Regional Sales Manager – Northern Region

Premier Select Sires, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Regional Sales Manager in our Northern Region reporting to Kirk Sattazahn. The overall goal of this position is to oversee the district team of Areas Sales Managers, Reproductive Services Managers, and the Sales Support & Dairy Coordinator Teams to maximize sales and service in the north region from New York to Maine.

Essential Functions

  • – Grow market share of dairy herds by increasing units sold, total semen dollars sold, and total product sales sold
  • – Hire and continually evaluate the sales and service positions required to maximize sales
  • – Work closely with the genetics and reproductive programs team to establish relationships with key accounts, offer proposals and bids for additional services to new accounts, and following up to stay abreast of the key account’s needs in their genetics and reproduction supplier
  • – Work closely with Area Sales Managers and Reproductive Service Specialists in identifying and servicing key accounts as well as leading training events for the sales team
  • – Establish and build relationships with non-employee marketers of Premier (i.e. distributors) including pricing decisions
  • – Represent Premier at regional, state, and national events where participation provides return to the members of the cooperative
  • – Assist in collecting accounts receivable in a timely manner
  • – Assist the VP of Marketing in setting prices, developing specials, and preparing other marketing tools
  • – Oversee and lead product sales in coordination with the Product Manager

 

Success Measurements

  • – Maintain and grow market share
  • – Growth in units sold, total semen dollars sold, and total product sales
  • – Increased number of customers, patrons, and youth that are reached by a Premier education, event, or program
  • – Increased overall profitability of the cooperative

 

Education & Experience

  • – College degree in related field or specific coursework in agriculture
  • – Minimum six years’ experience in an agriculture sales environment
  • – Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service & communications skills required
  • – Experience with cattle evaluation, mating programs, A.I. and reproductive solutions
  • – Microsoft computer skills required with the ability to quickly learn new software programs

 

Compensation

  • – Salary plus commission including a full benefits package
