Amber Kirk serves as a Dairy Coordinator for Premier’s central region, covering Maryland, Delaware, and a few herds in Pennsylvania. She also travels to Kansas routinely to provide service to herds there. She has been with Premier for five years.
.
Amber works hard as a genetic consultant, providing a wide variety of services to dairy producers. She continues to focus on adapting her role as her customers’ needs evolve. She is also still very active on her family’s dairy farm, which gives her a different perspective and helps her to relate to her customers.
.
When asked what she finds most rewarding about her role, Amber said, “I enjoy seeing impressive daughters from bulls I recommended, and being able to help my customers create a clear plan for the future of their business.”
.
As advice to someone interested in a similar career path at Premier, Amber would say, “You don’t necessarily need an ag degree…real world experience (and some Excel knowledge) are worth a lot. People will learn to value you through your work, not your degree.”
