This week’s employee highlight is Amanda Landsiedel.
Amanda is currently the Director of Distribution and works in the Tunkhannock office. She has been with Premier for 16 years. Amanda started part time as an intern in 2010, and during her internship she worked with the distribution team and completed a marketing project with the northern region technician group. From there, she took a full-time position in Accounts Receivable and then moved back into Distribution in the fall of 2012. In 2017, she was promoted to the Distribution Manager, and then last May she was promoted to the Director of Distribution.
Her day-to-day work varies greatly. Semen orders require much of her focus during each month’s order week. Aside from the semen order, she is responsible for the supply chain flow: working with vendors, managing inventory and logistics, and making sure our sales reps and technicians are getting the semen and products they need to serve our customers!
When asked what she finds most rewarding about her role, Amanda states, “What I find most rewarding is knowing that what I do directly supports our field teams. When I do my job well, and they have what they need, it allows them more time to focus on serving our customers.”
When asked what advice she would give to someone interested in a similar career path, Amanda said, “Things rarely happen overnight. Even if you only started as an intern, your goals are not outside of your reach if you’re not afraid to put in your time and work for it.”
Outside of work, you can usually find Amanda outdoors. Much of her free time is spent riding horses with her kids or helping at the family farm, where they have a small cow/calf herd of Herefords. Amanda and her husband are both avid hunters and try to plan a big game trip every year.
Amanda is the backbone of our distribution team. She handles so many behind-the-scenes responsibilities that many employees and customers may not know about…and those efforts keep Premier running. Her kind soul and passion for her job are one-of-a-kind!
