Jim Wood, Area Sales Manager in Premier’s northern region, retires August 15, 2025 after 16 years of service to the cooperative.

After graduating from SUNY Cobleskill, Jim began his agricultural career as a partner with his father on their family farm. He worked in sales for an artificial insemination company before being hired as an Area Sales Manager for Select Sire Power in October 2009. Select Sire Power would undergo a merger in January 2019 to become Premier Select Sires, where Jim continued working in his sales role until retirement.

“What I have most enjoyed are the many relationships with customers that have turned into very close friendships. These I will take far into my retirement,” said Jim. “I have also truly enjoyed working with my coworkers, supporting each other as a team when needed. I am sure they will continue to succeed in keeping Premier Select at the top of the A.I. industry.”

“Jim has always been a dedicated family man, a hard worker, and deeply committed to providing excellent customer service,” said Eric Lundberg, Reginal Sales Manager in Premier’s northern region. “He consistently went above and beyond to help customers with the services he offered. He will be truly missed by all after his retirement.”

Jim looks forward to his next chapter of life, and he and his wife, Kris, are excited to soon become first-time grandparents. Jim plans to travel with Kris, enjoy hunting trips out west, and hunt and trap at home. He will also continue serving as a basketball referee and baseball umpire.
